Dr. Angela Garner, MD
Dr. Angela Garner MD has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. Dr. Garner is an internist, and she volunteers her time in other countries to help people get the medical care they need, and she has always been passionate helping others.
Dr. Garner believes that feeling beautiful inside and out has tremendous benefits to the overall aging process.
In 2012, she opened Refresh Medical Day Spa and Hormonal Health in Overland Park KS. Dr. Garner wanted to combine her passion to help others with her medical expertise.
Laurie Champ - Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
Laurie Champ- Laurie Champ, APRN, is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She grew up in DeSoto, Kansas and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2008. After graduating she moved to Kansas City, MO where she worked on a telemetry/renal unit as a Registered Nurse for 5 years. She then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for her Family Nurse Practitioner and graduated in December of 2012.
As a Nurse Practitioner at Northland Physical Medicine, Laurie works as part of a team to diagnose and treat the many health conditions of her patients. She is dedicated to helping her patients live a better quality of life that is free of pain.
In her spare time Laurie and her husband, Caleb, enjoy playing with their dog Lola, fixing up their old home, traveling, & spending time with their friends and family. Laurie also loves to cheer on her beloved Kansas Jayhawks whenever she gets the chance!
Dr. Kendra Pearson, DC
Dr. Kendra Pearson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College Kansas City in 2004. There she received her doctor of Chiropractic and certification in Meridian Therapy. She has spent the past 9 years practicing Chiropractic and Acupuncture with many wonderful experiences.
Dr. Pearson has perfected a gentle and effective spinal manipulation technique. She has also implemented a spinal rehab and physical therapy program that gets phenomenal results. She believes in an integrated approach to health care.
Dr. Pearson loves spending time with her husband and two children, Landon 6, and Livia 1. She enjoys riding her bike and is currently training for a century bike ride to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
Dr. Bryna Miller DC
Dr. Bryna Miller earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She then graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic and became a member of Pi Tau Delta. Dr. Miller has interned at the Kansas City Free Clinic, the Johnson County Health Partnership of Kansas City and Britton Chiropractic & Rehab Clinic.
Dr. Miller is board certified in chiropractic acupuncture and has extra curricular training in Activator Methods and Graston Technique. Dr. Miller is also certified in Kinesio Taping. Using a gentle and effective spinal manipulation, along with physical therapy and spinal rehab Dr. Miller gets her patients results. Integrating health care has been a blessing to the patients in the office.
Dr. Miller loves spending time with her husband and their 2 cats, watching baseball, being active whether it be running, playing volleyball or soccer, and reading a good book. Dr. Miller is a originally from Nebraska and will always be a Husker fan!
Nikki Anderson - Physical Therapist (DPT)
Nikki Anderson- Nikki Anderson graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Baker University in 2010. While at Baker she played 4 years of volleyball and served as team captain. In 2013 she graduated magna cum laude with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University.
Nikki has experience in treating a wide array of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. She has worked with pediatric through geriatric patient populations in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Nikki plans on pursuing further training in manual therapy to become a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist.
In her free time Nikki enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dog. She is active in her church and has a passion for mission work and orphan care in Haiti. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys working out, playing volleyball and cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats.
Beth Wilson - Physical Therapist Assistant
Beth Wilson- Beth Wilson graduated from the University of Kansas in 2010. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and completed an internship in outpatient physical therapy. She then attended the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Washburn University and graduated in May 2013. Beth now resides in the Kansas City area with her husband. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and staying active, including dance and yoga.
Christy Marsh: Nutritionist
Christy Marsh is a Clinical Nutritionist, Life Coach, and Holistic Health Practitioner dedicated to treating the whole person. Using a “bio-individual” approach she’s able to assess the unique needs of each individual. Christy is highly trained and educated to offer a whole regime of foods and herbs, body reading, and lifestyle-fitness solutions that work!
Christy brings a positive spirit and light-hearted approach to the work she does; combining practical western modalities and a holistic attitude to whole body healing. Christy was trained in San Diego and had a practice in La Jolla for nearly ten years before returning to her native mid-west where she now resides. She lectures nationally on the benefits of healing within.
Abbie Russell: Massage Therapist, Certified Personal Trainer, Rehab Technician
Abbie Russell is a NASM certified personal trainer and a massage therapist. She graduated from Massage Therapy Training Institute in 2009 and has been practicing since, focusing on sports and deep tissue massage, and is also passionate about the effects it has on the mind and spirit. She graduated from Wellspring school of Allied Health for personal training in 2012 with extra study in Corrective Exercise.
Abbie enjoys being active at the gym, parks, and playing sports/dancing recreationally. She also enjoys being creative, cooking, and spending time with the special people in her life
Crystal Stuerke: Medical Assistant
Crystal Stuerke attended Wentworth Junior College where she got her Associates in Nursing. She went on to receive her Phlebotomy and CNA License in 2001. In 2003 she attended Hudson Valley College in New York where she received her Medical Assistant Certificate. Crystal has plans to go back to school in the Fall of 2014 to get her Nurse Practitioner Degree.
Crystal is a proud momma of twins that keep her incredibly busy! She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. You will find her and the kids playing outside, fishing, four wheeling, and hunting. Crystal always has a great sense of humor that can brighten anyone's day.
Kyra Wiggins - Front Desk/Massage Therapist-
Kyra Wiggins, a Kansas City, Missouri native, has been an active member in the health care field for over 6 years. She graduated from Heritage College in 2007 with a degree in massage therapy. After five years in the massage therapy field, Kyra has made a small change to her career. Keeping with the holistic mindset, she has enjoyed her new career as the front desk coordinator to multiple Integrated Healthcare offices similar to Northland Physical Medicine. The only thing Kyra loves more than putting a smile on patient's faces in her hometown football team; The Kansas City Chiefs.
Casey Bowles - Case Manager/ Marketing Coordinator-
Born and raised in the Kansas City Northland, Casey Payton serves as the Case Manager and Marketing Coordinator at Northland Physical Medicine. Casey graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2009 with a degree in Public Relations. With a passion for communications, marketing and customer service, Casey brings her knowledge and experience to help guide patients through the process and services of the office. Casey also educates the community on the exceptional services that Northland Physical Medicine has to offer.
Casey enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, their two cats and dog, Tucker. They enjoy traveling and are diehard KC Chiefs fans!
Kerry Spencer - Billing/Coding Specialist-
Kerry Spencer is our Medical Billing Specialist. He has worked in the medical field for 25 years and has coding and billing experience in many diverse specialties such as cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology and many more. He enjoys the challenges that come with medical billing and the ever-changing world of healthcare. His door is always open to any patient who might have insurance billing questions or concerns.
Outside of the office (as well as in the office) Kerry is an avid science fiction fan and enjoys movies and books on the subject. He easily admits that his true passion is toy collecting. Fascinated with action figures since he was six years old way back in the early 1960s, Kerry has amassed a large collection of characters ranging from Star Wars and other sci-fi hits to Disney characters and Looney Tunes.
He will be the first to tell that he is just a big kid at heart
